Jerry Windle is a gay man whose life magically changes within a short period. He never wishes that he could be a dad any day. He is single, and society did not well accept Jerry as gay in the nineties.
However, a magazine story of a Cambodian child adopted by a man could enhance his life.
Having seen the magazine story, he goes to the adoption service. Although he is a single man, he strongly requests a boy to adopt. He may doubt whether he can adopt him as he is single. Fortunately, they permit him. Jerry Windle is over the moon and stays eagerly to provide strength to the boy.
Several months later, Jerry adopts an 18- month- old, sick Cambodian child. Despite his unhealthy condition, he accepts the child. The boy is suffering from scabies, infections and undernutrition.
He attempts to make him healthy. After some attempts, the boy, Jordan, fits as a fiddle.
Amazingly, the same boy grabs the chance to represent his country in the Tokyo Olympics.
Jordan Windle, who is one year old, stays in a Cambodian orphanage after the death of his parents. The same fantastic spirit gets the opportunity to join the U.S Olympic Diving Team representing the United States, having won second place at the Olympic trials.
Jordan delightedly says that the loudest voice he hears in the audience is his father’s. Jerry Windle is always on cloud nine when his son performs. Unfortunately, Jerry misses out on the chance to go to Tokyo because of COVID-19 restrictions but his support for his son is still uninterrupted.
Jordan says, “I wish he were there, but that doesn’t change what I’m going there to do: To have fun, show off a little bit, and put on a show for everyone. That’s going to be my intention, and I’m hopefully going to make him proud,”
There is no end to Jordan’s unbelievable competencies. He makes an impression on a man called Tim O’Brien at a summer camp. Tim O’Brien says that the fabulous diver Greg Louganis comes to mind when he sees Jordan. Greg’s coach has been his father.
Surprisingly, Jordan started diving when he was seven and won his national junior national championship at 9.
Although he has already entered a new chapter in his life, he is not the nut that forgets its skin. Although he lives in Us, he still represents Cambodia. He respects and loves the country. He has even tattooed the Cambodian flag on his arm. That conveys that he needs to bring more triumphs to his motherland.
Jerry Windle, his father, proudly says that “It’s disappointing, but at the same time, this is Jordan’s journey, and this is the pinnacle of it, and I want him to enjoy this experience as best he can … That’s what I’ve always wanted for him.”
It is pretty interesting to hear how generous and sensitive Jordan is. He says, “without him making all the sacrifices that he has, and his love and support the whole time we’ve been together. I really wouldn’t be where I am today. I have him to thank for everything, all my accomplishments. It’s been an amazing journey with him, and we’re still rolling.”
There is no doubt that Jerry Windle is superman, which makes Jordan his super son.
